National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2020 (NEET (UG) – 2020)
The NEET 2020 results will be prepared by the NTA and published by the Medical counseling committee in a short time to announce the results. It usually takes four weeks to process such a huge number of students and the results to be out, so it can be expected that the results of NEET 2020 will be out by the end of September 2020 or the first week of October.
This means won’t be taking that long for the results of NEET 2020 to be out, and then very soon, the required procedures would begin, such as the counseling to ensure that they begin the academic sessions for medical students as soon as possible.
NEET Merit List Stages
Based on the merit list for All India Quota published by the MCC, the Directorate General of Health Services will be responsible for conducting the centralized counseling and all the required arrangements.
After this, the merit list will be forwarded to the concerned authorities of all the states and union territories to develop the state merit list for UG NEET 2020 applicants. The merit list can be filtered into three stages:
The first stage of the merit list includes the centralized list, which contains India’s total rank among 15.9 lakh other students. This is the (All India Rank) of the students, and the merit list for this is called the All India Merit List for NEET 2020.
The second stage of the merit list publication includes the All India Quota or (AIQ) merit list. It will reflect the names, rank, and scores of the students who qualify for the 15% reservation seats in the medical colleges. After the All India Quota rank is released, there is a third stage of the NEET merit list, which is also called the state-wise merit list.
The third stage or the state-wise merit list for UG NEET 2020 students will be developed to consider their state rank. Except for the reservation quota seats, which occupy 15% of the total seats, the rest are 85% of the seats given to students based on the state-merit list.
NEET Reservation Quota 2020
The All India rank for quota reservation students will contain only the name of students who qualified the entrance examinations. The conditions include the students should not belong to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. However, those who belong to Jammu and Kashmir and have signed the declaration can expect to find their names in the All India Quota rank list and only if they have qualified the NEET 2020 entrance examination.
The reservation quota includes management quota, NRI quota, state quota, etc. In case the All India Quota seats were not filled, then the seats will be offered to students with state quota only after they get approval from the concerned authority.
The procedures involved to find students’ rank aren’t very complex, and all the students need to do is download the UG ranking from the official website. They’ll need to enter the required credentials such as registration number and birth date to access the UG rankings.
According to the rank secured or marks obtained, the students will qualify for further admissions in MBBS and other colleges related to India’s medical and biological sciences streams. The merit list for the students who have appeared the exam and hold a reserved quota will also be declared very soon based on the cut-off marks that are yet to be announced.
The quota seats hold 15% seats of the total available seats, and the rest 85% will be for the regular counseling and admission of the general and OBC students. The states’ merit list is going to be very important for the students who are eyeing to get admission in a good medical college. Depending upon the score, they’ll be going forward for the admission in medical colleges. The authority in the individual state or the state medical council will be taking all responsibilities for conducting successful counseling of the students depending on the state-merit list obtained.
Several factors play a vital role or play as the deciding parameters for the NEET state merit list 2020, such as the reservations and other such factors.
NEET Merit List Announcement Process 2020
The procedures of state-wise merit list announcement for NEET 2020 include the following steps:

- The list will contain the names of states the students belong to for the ease in processing the list of the qualified students for each state.
- Based on the seats available, reservations, and a few other parameters considered, the state will develop the final NEET 2020 state merit list. After the state merit list is out, the concerned authorities will ensure conducting counseling based on the merit list of students produced by the state
- Upon a situation where the scoring pattern of more than one student remains very similar, the ranking or the merit will be given to them based on the factor of their score in Biology and chemistry
