How Did Keara Hazel Die?
Keara Hazel had a laugh that was contagious and was described as “bubbly, happy-go-lucky, and compassionate.” Franklin, Tennessee was the location of her birth on March 11th, 1994. Her mother, Karen Griffin, recalled how compassionate her daughter was, saying that she would listen to anyone who was going through a difficult time and pray for them. In college, she began dating Jordan Michael Hazel, and the couple dated for a full year before she discovered she was pregnant. Soon after that, the couple tied the knot and moved in together into an apartment located at 221 Mills Drive in Clarksville.
Keara, who was 20 years old at the time, gave birth to a son on July 29, 2014, and they named him Kayden. Karen reflected on how sweet and wise-looking he was for such a young age, saying that he had “an old soul.” On December 12, 2016, their second child, Jaylynn, was born to Keara, who had given birth three years earlier to their first child. Karen shared that Jaylynn was a content and lovable baby, and that she and her sister were inseparable. However, despite appearances, this was not the joyful household that one might have assumed it to be.
On September 13, 2017, Karen was caring for her grandchildren while the children’s mother, who worked as a front desk clerk in a hotel in Clarksville and was 23 years old at the time, was at work. She arrived to pick up her children, but she remained there for a while after she got there. That particular day, her father was off work, and the rest of the family took advantage of the opportunity to spend time together. Karen said, “I feel blessed. We each said, “I love you,” and throughout the day, I was showered with additional hugs and kisses… Keara and her father shared their “I love yous” with one another. I give thanks to God for that because it ensured that they were aware of our love for them.
What Happened With Keara Hazel?
Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding the deaths of her daughter and grandchildren, Karen Griffin has made the conscious decision to cling to the joyful memories she has of them.
The last time she saw her daughter, Keara Hazel, who was 23 years old, as well as her grandchildren, Kaden, who was 3, and Jaylynn, who was 9 months old, they were all together on the deck of her home in Stewart County, and it was a time that was filled with love.
On September 13, 2017, Griffin had looked after the grandchildren for Keara while she was at work. When Keara arrived to pick them up, she lingered around for a while longer than necessary so that she could pay a visit. On that particular day, Keara’s dad did not have to go to work, so he was free to spend time with his family.
She remarked, “I truly feel blessed.” “We each said, ‘I love you,’ and throughout the day, I was showered with additional hugs and kisses… Keara and her father shared their “I love yous” with one another. I give thanks to God for that because it ensured that they were aware of our love for them.
The following day, Keara, Kaden, and Jaylynn were all brutally murdered in their home by Jordan Hazel, who was also Keara’s husband and the children’s father.
Who Is Jaylynn Hazel?
After receiving a concerned phone call from Jordan Hazel’s mother, Griffin decided to pay them a visit to check on their well-being. During the course of Jordan and Keara’s one-year marriage and four-year relationship, Jordan’s history of domestic violence against Keara was well documented. Griffin stated that she gave the phone call a lot of thought and prayed the whole way there.
When Jordan Hazel saw her approaching the house, she eventually opened the door for her.
Griffin reported that the man had told him, “It’s done and it’s over.” Shortly after that, Griffin came across the body of her daughter, and she later learned that her grandchildren had also passed away.
She stated that she does not let the image of her daughter’s accident be “etched in her mind,” and that she does not let it obscure the wonderful life that Keara led or the stunning person that she was.
Keara was described as having a “bubbly personality” and having a compassionate nature. She had a contagious laugh, was compassionate, and would listen to anyone who was going through difficult times before praying for them.
Griffin remarked that she was very charitable. “Being a mother was her world, and she cherished every moment of it.” She was one of the most amazing mothers a person could ever ask for.”
Griffin described Kaden as a kind and thoughtful little boy who had the spirit of an old man.
Jaylynn was a contented and lovable infant who had just mastered the ability to pull herself up the day before she passed away. Kaden and Jaylynn never left each other’s side.
Griffin shared, “I only had Keara for 23 years, Kaden for 3 years, and Jaylynn for 9 months, but God gave me the greatest blessing from those three.” “Had they not been born, I would have been deprived of the greatest blessings in my life.”

Charges Against Jordan Hazel
Jordan Michael Hazel entered a plea of guilty as charged on all three counts of first-degree premeditated murder on Tuesday. As a result of his guilty plea, he will serve two life sentences, each for a term of 55 years, before becoming eligible for parole.
A previous hearing had been held to determine whether or not he possessed the mental capacity to stand trial, and the judge had concluded that he did possess the necessary mental capacity.
Griffin is quoted as saying, “I knew he wasn’t insane.” Because he was eager to move on with his life, he disposed of them as though they were worthless garbage.
Griffin has stated that she is not resentful toward Jordan Hazel and does not hate her. Even though the loss has left her with a broken heart, she is resolute in her commitment to be faithful and to feel blessed.
Griffin stated, “I didn’t want to take his life, but I didn’t want another mother to go through the pain I’ve been through.” She was referring to the suffering she had experienced as a mother. “The only way to accomplish that was to prevent him from ever escaping,” you said. … He won’t live forever, but the important thing is that he won’t be able to cause any harm to anyone else. I sincerely pray that God will have mercy on him. It is going to be an everyday reality for him to deal with this. I will never forget the smooches and hugs that I received on my deck on the very last day.
It was the last time she would ever get to see her daughter and grandchildren while they were still alive. She had no idea at the time that this would be the case. Karen went to her daughter’s house on September 14, 2017, after receiving a distressing phone call from Jordan’s grandmother, Cindy Soliz, who informed her that Jordan’s mother Keara and Keara’s children and grandchildren had been murdered. Her screams woke up the neighbours, who then called the police when they heard what was going on. When the police arrived at the scene of the crime, they were shocked by the viciousness of the attack; there was blood and tissues splattered all over the walls, and Keara’s body was found in her bedroom, propped up against furniture.
At first, the law enforcement officers who responded to the scene of the crime believed that the children were still alive. They did not have to wait very long before they realised that they had been incorrect in their assumptions. The officers discovered the body of Kayden, who had been wrapped in a blanket, in the hallway of the house, while Jaylynn’s body was found inside the crib. According to the findings of the autopsies, each of the three victims had been shot twice, with Keara having been shot in both the head and the neck.
Who Killed Keara Hazel?
Because Jordan was the one who opened the door for his mother-in-law and said, “It’s done and it’s over,” the police did not have to investigate the murder because Jordan was the one who opened the door for his mother-in-law. Around 10:48 in the morning, in response to a call placed to 911, the officers arrived on the scene and detained him just outside of his residence. Following his transport to the police station, Jordan is said to have admitted to Detective Fred McClintock that he had brutally murdered his wife and their three children. On September 13, 2017, he had left his house in order to retrieve a shotgun that he had previously left at a friend’s house.
After loading the gun in his driveway, he went inside his house at approximately 8:00 p.m., called his wife out of the bedroom so he could shoot her, and then shortly after that, he shot and killed his two young children. According to the reports filed by the police, Jordan had already shot them twice over the course of 12 hours, in between making phone calls to members of his family, reading the Bible, taking naps, and going out to run errands, before shooting them again at around 3 in the morning. In addition, he had gone to Kroger to get more gas, and then he went to McDonald’s to get some sweet tea. According to the reports that were submitted to the court, Jordan was also taking some kind of medication at the time that the murders were committed.
In addition to this, it was discovered that he had a lengthy criminal history, which began with an incident in which Jordan, then 18 years old, committed burglary in Warner-Robbins, Georgia, in November of 2008. A multitude of charges against him were indicted, including theft, criminal trespassing, and forgery, and he was given a sentence of one year in jail and nine years on probation for his crimes. After testing positive for both marijuana and methamphetamine in August of 2012, it was determined that he had violated the terms of his probation. In 2013, he was placed under arrest for possessing marijuana in the city of Clarksville.

Where To Find Jordan Hazel Right Now?
Jordan told the investigators that there had been monetary problems, and he said, “I was thinking it (the murders) would solve problems for everybody” and “I would get my life back.” This was the only motive that Jordan provided to the investigators. His legal representation argued that he was mentally unstable and raised questions on grounds of competency after he was indicted on three charges of premeditated first-degree murder. The charges against him were in the first degree. A hearing on his mental competency took place on June 9, 2020, and the judge ruled that he was mentally capable.
On August 18, 2020, just six days before his trial was scheduled to begin, Jordan entered a guilty plea to three counts of murder and agreed to three life sentences with the possibility of parole. His agreement to enter into a plea bargain resulted in the reduction of his sentence to two life sentences, each to be served concurrently but in conjunction with the other. In addition, the judgement stated that the defendant, who was 30 years old at the time, would have to serve two sentences of 55 years each, for a total of 110 years, before becoming eligible for parole. According to the official records kept by the court, he is currently in his early 30s and serving his sentence at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center in Trousdale County, Tennessee. The date on which he will become eligible for release from prison is March 19, 2136.
