The claim included a secondary victim claim for the damage to our client’s mental health caused by the events she saw around the time her daughter died. The Defendant Trust fought hard against this part of the claim. We got our client a settlement out of court for £65,000.
We were able to get our client compensation, which was fair and showed that the Defendant Trust had done something wrong. Even though the compensation is just money, it gives the Claimant and her family peace of mind about their future.
In the case of the second victim, we worked hard to get justice for our client, but this was strongly opposed. In the past few months, it has been hard for secondary victim claims to go through because case law has been changing quickly and has mostly been in favor of the defendants. But we thought this was a very important case to take on and that our client deserved to be treated fairly.
We also helped our client by getting a settlement out of court before he or she went to court. This kept her from having to be evaluated by an expert hired by the Defendant, which could have been even more upsetting for her.
During and after the Inquest, we also talked to the media. Our client and her family wanted to get the word out because they wanted the care at the Trust to get better. As part of our job, we sent out press releases, talked to the media, helped the Claimant’s family during a TV interview, and also did a short TV interview ourselves.
Our clients choose us not only because we are experts who have won awards, but also because we take a different, caring approach and fight for justice for every client. Our client wanted to move forward with the divorce, and we helped him do that by being proactive. Instead of waiting to hear from them, we went to the lawyer who was representing our client’s wife and answered all of their messages right away.
Divorce is hard for everyone involved, and making the process last longer than it needs to can cause more stress and tension. The lawyer who is helping our client’s wife is a sole practitioner and was always hard to reach. But because we worked hard and cared about our client, we were able to see the case through to a successful end.
Our client and his wife were able to settle the parts of their divorce case that had been going on for a long time without having to go to court, which neither of them wanted to do.
