Arizonan Adrienne Salinas, 19, was a college student at the time of her passing and was a 19-year-old at the time. Salinas and her two roommates were preparing to throw a birthday celebration for one of their friends on the evening of June 14, 2013. Shainey Duggan, Salinas’ roommate, allegedly said that Salinas wasn’t in a good mood that evening. She claimed in a statement to People:

Adrienne was in her room by herself, sitting on her bed, all clothed and prepared for the party but unwilling to participate in the activities taking place downstairs.

She claimed that evening, she just wasn’t in the mood to party.
Salinas was upset with her partner that night, according to Duggan. Her sentiments were hurt by her boyfriend’s reported interest in another female. According to Uncovered, the couple left the party at around 2:30 AM, but Salinas insisted that she didn’t want to stay the night at Francisco’s apartment, so he drove her back to hers.

Then, before leaving once more at roughly 4:00 AM, she reportedly had a brief conversation with a roommate.

This time, she was thought to have gone back to her apartment to change after her cab was involved in a single-car collision. No one saw her enter the apartment, though.

Around 5:00 a.m., Salinas allegedly texted and contacted her boyfriend, telling him she was going to his residence. She then allegedly left the apartment once more. She told the cab driver to meet her at a nearby convenience store after making the call. This was her last interaction with anyone, reports said.

She was nowhere to be found by the cabbie. She had already turned off her phone. Salinas was never seen alive again.

Nearly two months after Salinas inexplicably vanished, her bones were discovered in a desert wash basin in Apache Junction on August 6, 2013. Despite the fact that the incident was seen as a homicide. No evidence of wrongdoing, according to the police, was discovered. Her death’s cause was not revealed in the autopsy results either.

The case has not yet been resolved. It is still listed as a “strange death,” according to the FBI’s official website, and there is a reward of up to $20,000 available for anyone with information that could help solve the case.
