Wednesday: Jenna Ortega

Wednesday Addams in Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega.

Teenage girl Wednesday is a member of the ghastly Addams Family. She is renowned for her twisted interests and deadpan sense of humor, which in the past have included torturing her younger brother.

In this series, we watch her transfer to a boarding school and make an effort to apprehend an enigmatic killer terrorizing the students there.

Ortega became famous for her role as a teenage Jane the Virgin in the highly acclaimed comedy-drama Jane the Virgin, which starred Gina Rodriguez.

She has since won the hearts of horror fans thanks to her performances in The Babysitter: Killer Queen, X, and the Scream revival in 2022.

She has also provided the voice for the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Elena of Avalor.

The most well-known portrayal of Wednesday over the years was provided by Christina Ricci, who will also be returning for this new series to play a brand-new character. Wednesday has also appeared in other variations.

Working with Ricci on the series was “very exciting,” Ortega remarked in an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com.

It was undoubtedly a little nerve-wracking at first. It’s important to avoid giving her the impression that you are copying her performance in front of her. You want to establish your character as being wholly your own.

“I think we handled it extremely coolly since we never talked about it,” she continued. We simply talked about one another, got to know one another, and sort of disregarded it.

That was very reassuring, and I believe it was the right choice.
