As the team of laborers prepares to make their way back to the mainland, an eerie fog rolls in and a mystery power begins to exert its influence over them.

The Rig (Amazon Prime): Filming Locations

The whole filming of The Rig took place in Scotland, with the very last shot being taken in Edinburgh. On January 6, 2023, The Rig will become available to stream on Amazon Prime.

After the filming of the series was completed in Edinburgh, one of the actors in the show, Compston, proclaimed that it was among the most enjoyable work experiences he’d ever had.

Compston took to social media to express his congratulations to the team working on the project and to indicate that he believes it has the potential to be something truly remarkable.

The National Lottery and the Scottish Government contributed money to Screen Scotland’s Production Growth Fund so that they could help support this important opportunity for Scotland’s film and television industry. This funding went toward the production of this series.

The decision to allow production to take place entirely within Scotland improved the economic impact of the sector as well as the industries that supported it.

The production also took part in a comprehensive trainee program run by Screen Academy Scotland as part of its Screen NETs initiative. This program offered crucial opportunities for newcomers from all over the country to take the first step toward a career in film and television in Scotland.

It is anticipated that the show will contribute to the growth of Scotland’s film industry.

The Rig (Amazon Prime): WATCH TRAILER

The first trailer for the brand new Amazon Prime Video series The Rig has been officially published. The series stars Martin Compston (Line of Duty), Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), and Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek), and it appears as though it will be a stressful, intriguing, and chilling trip.

In the promotional video, we see the crew of the oil rig Kinloch Bravo struggle to keep their composure as a mystery fog descends on them, completely isolating them from the mainland and, according to what we are told, causing some of the crew members to experience “psychological problems.”

The Rig (Amazon Prime): Plot Synopsis

The Rig transports us to an oil rig that is stationed in the perilous waters of the North Sea, which is located off the coast of Scotland. The film appears to be a blend of the horror and thriller genres.

There, we come face to face with the crew of the Kinloch Bravo, who are impatiently waiting to be rescued and brought back to the mainland.

It’s too bad, therefore, that an enigmatic mist that envelops everything prevents this from happening, right?

“And while the crew is endeavoring to uncover what’s driving this mysterious force, a big accident leads them to ask questions about who they can actually trust,” “And while the crew is endeavoring to discover what’s driving this unknown force,”

It goes on to say something alarming, such as “Bonds are shattered, allegiances established, and generational fault lines exposed.” The crew of the Bravo will be tested to their limits, both in terms of their allegiances and their ability to endure, as they are forced into a battle with forces that are beyond their comprehension.

In “The Rig,” Martin Compston will be seen performing the character of “Fulmer.”

On Friday, January 6, 2023, The Rig will make its debut on Prime Video in an exclusive capacity.

It will be broken up into a total of six episodes.

At the Edinburgh TV Festival 2022, Prime Video’s Daisy Mount, who is also the Head of Amazon Originals for the UK, disclosed that the series had been in development for a substantial amount of time due to the significant amount of visual effects that are included in the show.

She stated that “we are looking for shows that are extremely entertaining first, we are looking for shows that are bold and original and feel very specific to Prime Video,” which are shows that one could only see on a streaming service such as ours.

“The Rig truly delivers in that regard, but also what we really test ourselves on are shows that don’t compromise on character and emotional heart, and I believe what David Macpherson, the writer, has done here really delivers on that,” he said.
