Celebrity bowling on National Bowling Day (2012), What Happened Today?
Walking Dead Universe preview guests have been announced on Talking Dead.
National Bowling Day is on August 13, and you never know what entertaining Walking Dead facts you’ll come across online. Back in 2012–2013, Talking Dead presenter Chris Hardwick invented a fantastic technique to earn money for charity. The program’s name, Chris Hardwick’s All-Star Celebrity Bowling, pretty much explains itself. To bowl for charity, Hardwick and his Nerd Squad competed against various TV show teams.
A Nerd Squad made up of Hardwick, Kumail Nanjiani, Dana Gould, and Emily Gordon faced off against some The Walking Dead cast members, including Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Scott Wilson (Hershel), and comic book creator Robert Kirkman on May 7, 2012, during episode 6 of the 20-episode series.
In the hilarious episode (below), Hardwick tries to persuade the players that day drinking is the best strategy for winning the match. For those who don’t know, Yeun even pulled off a Turkey, which resulted in a “four bagger.” In order to avoid being exposed, Hardwick also purchases a Turkey of his own.
You’ll never be as good as your dad, Kirkman says to Hardwick while engaging in some smack talk. Which Hardwick demonstrated by spilling something. His father, Billy Hardwick, was a ten-pin bowler who became the first bowler to win the U.S. Open, the PBA National Championship, and the Tournament of Champions, thus capturing the PBA “Triple Crown.”
Since it contains Scott Wilson, who passed away on October 6, 2018, this video is very poignant. It’s wonderful to see him having a good time with the other Walking Dead stars.
National Bowling Day: The Walking Dead
I’ll let you know the outcome if you don’t want to watch. At this point in the series, The Walking Dead team became the first one to defeat the Nerd Squad. Big Brothers Big Sisters was the charity chosen by Yeun, Child’s Play by Kirkman, Ace of Hearts Dog Shelter by Lauren Cohan, and the MPTF Community Care fund by Scott Wilson.
Mad Men, MythBusters, Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, Team Fallon, and WWE Superstars were some of the other shows that competed against the Nerd Squad.
This National Bowling Day trip down memory lane was enjoyable.
