What is Karunya University?
Karunya University (formerly Karunya Institute of Technology and Science) is a fully-fledged Christian private university located in Coimbatore (India).
It is a Christian minority organization founded by Christian missionaries and founders of the organizations Jesus calls Jesus in India.
1981 Ph.D. D. G. S. Dhinakaran sought to set up a technical university to carry out the command given to him by the Lord.
Accordingly, on October 4, 1986, the Karunya Institute of Technology flourished under the leadership of the Union Minister for Human Resource Development Arjun Singh.
It was run by the Karunya Education Trust. In 2004 the Ministry of Human Resources upgraded the College to Karunya University in recognition of its academic excellence.
