Authorities in California say that Jolissa Fuentes, who is 22 years old, hasn’t been seen since Sunday, August 7.
Her family says that the last time they saw Jolissa Fuentes was when she drove her car to a Selma, California, AM/PM gas station on Nebraska Avenue. Even though the Selma Police Department thinks something is wrong, they are not yet looking into the case as an abduction.
ABC said that the last time they saw Fuentes, he was driving a 2011 gray Hyundai Accent with the license plate number 8MPU766. So far, the car has not been found.
At first, the Fuentes family offered a reward of $1,000 for any information about their daughter’s whereabouts. KMJNOW said that this number kept going up because there were no new leads. In the end, it was worth $2000, and now it’s worth $5000.
How did Jolissa Fuentes get hurt? Details about how she went missing
Before Jolissa went missing, her family said, she went to a party and then went to her grandmother’s house to get a bag and some money. The 22-year-old was last seen at 4:06 a.m. on Sunday, when security cameras caught her buying a snack at the AM/PM gas station in Selma before driving away.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, her father, Joey Fuentes, said that he thought she had been kidnapped because it wasn’t like her to be gone for so long without telling anyone.
Norma Nunez, Jolissa’s mother, also said that her daughter’s sudden disappearance was not like her usual behavior, and she said that she, too, thinks there may have been foul play involved:
“It’s not like her to just disappear. She has lots of friends. She never skips work. We’re on day four of her not coming to work.”
She said that Jolissa was “a brave woman with a kind heart”
Nunez said that Jolissa Fuentes called her sister at 5:26 a.m. on Sunday, but her sister didn’t pick up the phone. This was the last call she made that was caught on tape.
The Fuentes family also told Fox News that Jolissa liked to hang out in a rural part of Selma where she could enjoy the view.
When Jolissa’s father, Joey Fuentes, was asked if he had a message for his daughter, he said:
“We love you, Jolissa. Come back.”
The case is still being looked into, and the police are still working with Jolissa Fuentes’ family to find out where her phone was last seen.
