Law & Order: Organized Crime: Is Denise Bullock leaving?

At the beginning of the show, Denise and Ayanna have a very loving relationship. However, as the show goes on, that relationship, which was built on mutual love and respect, starts to fall apart. By the end of season 2, they are no longer together, and Ayanna has a lot of problems. In an interview with Looper in September 2022, Truitt talked about where her character was at the time.

“Unfortunately, Season 3 still has a lot of trouble,” Truitt said. “Her husband left her, taking the child with him. When Season 3 starts, she is dealing with her divorce and how it has changed her life now that Denise and Jack are no longer living with her. She is now getting ready to be a single mom and lead a task force.

Truitt went on, “They added two new people to the task force, and when you add new people, you always have to make a few changes. Bell is trying to get her life on track and realize that it takes two people to make a marriage work and that one person can’t make a marriage fail. Bell needs to take a good look at herself to figure out how she hurt the marriage.

Detectives almost always have to choose between their jobs and their relationships on Dick Wolf shows. If the character stays in the show, it means that they have given up their relationship. If they choose relationship, the characters are almost certainly going to be killed off. In fact, Denise and Ayanna have a similar conversation in which Denise says that Ayanna only cares about her career.

Denise broke up with Ayanna, not the other way around. So, Denise’s claim that Ayanna left her and their child doesn’t make sense. “Bell and Denise aren’t newlyweds, but they’ve been married for less than five years. And they’re mothers,” Truitt told TVLine in April 2022. When you get married and have kids, it changes the way you and your partner relate to each other. In the case of Bell and Denise, it was Denise who carried the baby. She stopped working and put her life on hold so that they could have this child. And Bell helped Denise get pregnant, which was what she wanted.

Since Dukes is in the second episode of season 3, it’s possible that she’s still a big part of the cast, even if her appearances aren’t as regular as they were before season 2.

Denise wakes up and tells Ayanna that she is worried about her relationship with Stabler while they are both in bed. Denise says it could hurt their unborn child and the family they will start together. Ayanna tells Denise that her relationship with Stabler is fine and that she is most worried about Richard Wheatley. (Original: “Hello, Little Friends”)

After two police officers beat her nephew Damon King badly and falsely arrested him, Bell and Stabler go to the hospital to talk to Denise. Stabler asks Denise if she needs anything, and she tells him she doesn’t like him. Bell thanks him for the offer, though. (OC: “A Substandard Good”)

Denise gets to the police station and waits in her office for Bell. When Bell gets to the police station, she sees Denise in her office. Denise tells Bell that she is going to sue the NYPD for Damon’s injuries that will last for the rest of his life. Bell was in a tough spot when Denise told her that she could either quit her job or lose her family. (Opening Credits: “I Got This Rat”)

At the Bell house, Bell agrees with Denise’s choice to tell people about Damon’s lawsuit. Denise then tells the press that they are filing a lawsuit against the NYPD because two police officers attacked Damon. (Original: “Everyone Gets Beat Up Sometimes”)

Jack, their son, was born to Denise. After putting Jack to sleep, Denise told Bell that she got a call from Congressman Kilbride who wants to talk about Damon’s lawsuit against the NYPD and wants to meet with them to talk more. He knows that she is married to a police officer and wants to use that fact to change the way they talk about wrongdoing by police. Bell can see where this is going, but Denise thinks Kilbride is one of the good guys, so she agrees to meet with him. (Original: “The Man With No Name”)

When Denise came home and found Stabler sleeping on her couch, she was upset. Denise told him that since he was an adult, he should have friends he could call in the middle of the night. After Stabler told her she looked good, Bell told him that she and Denise are going to lunch to celebrate their anniversary. Denise and Bell talk with Pastor Derrick Riley about giving Jack a name. Denise tells Derrick that Kilbride gave her a job offer while they are talking, and Bell doesn’t understand why Denise didn’t tell her. Bell tells Denise that she doesn’t want her to take Kilbride’s job offer because Jack is too young. Denise doesn’t agree with Bell, and she’s hurt that he doesn’t want to help her get her dream job. Denise doesn’t know that this is because Kilbride is a high-ranking member of the Marcy Killers, who Bell is currently looking into, and that Bell is trying to keep her out of jail because Kilbride is probably trying to trick Denise into doing something illegal and also use her against Bell. (Original: “Can’t Knock the Hustle”)

Denise and Bell argue a lot about the job offer that Kilbride made to Denise at his old company. Then, Bell tells Denise that she and her task force have been looking into Kilbride’s link to the Marcy Killers for months. Bell tells Denise that Kilbride is connected to organized crime, and Denise tells Bell that she needs to go where she’s wanted. Bell then agrees to come home early and take care of Jack while Denise has some time to herself. Later, when Bell is late getting home, Denise tells her she has to go meet her new boss. Denise then tells Bell that she took the job offer from Kilbride. Denise tells Bell that she has already given up enough, and Bell tells Denise to calm down. (Original Content: “Dead Presidents”)

Denise was angry with Bell after she saw her go into Kilbride’s law office and arrest Kilbride for his crimes. She told Bell that she hopes she’s happy. Later, when Bell goes home, he calls for Denise, who isn’t there, and finds a note from her. In the note, Denise tells Bell that their relationship isn’t working and that she’s temporarily keeping Jack. (OC: “Friend Or Foe”)

After Kilbride’s arrest, Denise and Bell broke up. When Bell went to see Denise, she told him she couldn’t believe they were getting a divorce. Denise tells Bell that she used to be a wife and mother, but that she quit those jobs. Later, Bell tells Stabler about how she feels about Denise. Bell tells Stabler that Denise might have been right, and that she was probably a bad wife. But Stabler tells Bell that he was married for a long time and that the only reason it worked was because of Kathy. (Original Content: “Everyone Knows the Dice Are Loaded”)
