When Jonathan Sapirman started shooting inside the mall, two people died and a few others were hurt. When Elisjsha Dicken intervened just in time, it could have been worse.
Sapirman, 20, also passed away after being shot by a man who was lawfully armed and visiting with his girlfriend at the time, according to Greenwood Police Chief James Ison, who made this announcement during a press conference.
Two minutes after the shooting started, Dicken, 22, of Seymour, shot and murdered Sapirman with a revolver. He received praise for his heroic efforts during the media briefing.
