In 2008, Kaestner-Varnado started wrestling training at Chaotic Wrestling (CW), which has its headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts.

The contest was an intergender tag team match, and they ended up losing against Alexxis and Danny E. She joined up with Nikki Roxx for the bout. KV made her professional wrestling debut for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) on November 19, 2010, competing under the ring name Miss Mercedes. She was unsuccessful in her match against Julian Starr. Mercedes was victorious in her singles battles against Sheik Ali and Nick Fahrenheit throughout the course of the next two nights. A rivalry between Mercedes and The Great Cheyenne developed after Mercedes was defeated by the latter on multiple occasions.
