Her children suffered greatly as a result of the tragedy, and her husband was forced to leave the Navy.

DARWIN, AUSTRALIA: A mother who beat her two-year-old daughter for causing a mess in the kitchen was not sentenced to jail. The mother of two small children, a 26-year-old Darwin woman, nearly murdered her daughter before pleading guilty in front of the Supreme Court to causing illegal harm. In the “very upsetting” tragedy in July 2021, her daughter sustained lacerated liver tissue in addition to severe bleeding. The woman stomped on her daughter, Judge Judith Kelly told the court, and then left the room for a short while before returning to discover the child laying on the floor “barely aware” and going blue. The mother’s sentence of two years and three months in prison was completely suspended.

The woman’s husband was awakened by her frantic shouts, and she confessed to him that she had stomped on the baby because “the kids kept getting into everything and were trashing (her) property,” according to the court. The mom, whose identity has been withheld, lost her temper after discovering a mess her daughter and elder son had caused in their home with potato chips and biscuits one morning. Additionally, the young child had looked through a package that her mother was going to mail. The youngster spent the following four nights recovering at Royal Darwin Hospital after her husband transported their daughter there. The judge informed the mother, “There was a chance that your daughter could have died without the therapy of fluid resuscitation and strict monitoring.”

On February 12, 2008, in Darwin, Australia, a general view of the Royal Darwin Hospital is shown. Ramos-Horta was shot at least twice in a rebel assassination attempt that failed outside his Dili home earlier in the day, and he was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital yesterday evening for emergency medical care.

After the kid was born, the lady developed PTSD, postpartum depression, and anxiety, and the court heard that her marriage “had unhappiness.” After the incident, she spent several nights in the hospital’s psych unit and claimed that her mental health problems were to blame. The court told the woman, “For a mother to abuse her young kid is intensely upsetting. Children have a right and an expectation to receive both love and protection from their parents and, need I stress, especially from their mother.

The incident had a significant impact on the two young children, and their father had to give up his job in the navy as a result, the court heard. The court was informed that she is currently undergoing counselling to address her mental health and temper issues.
