He did not play the part again, and the official comic book gave an explanation for his character’s disappearance, saying that he had been sent to Alaska.

Germann appeared in many movies after Ally McBeal finished, including Down to Earth, Sweet November, and Joe Somebody, all of which were released in 2001. He made two cameo appearances on The Bernie Mac Show.

He received leading roles in the family comedies Down and Derby and Family Plan in 2005.

He made a guest appearance in the TV show Desperate Housewives in 2006.
